New Fashion Talent: Leutton Postle

There's an abundance of new design talent out there...

Whilst doing some research for an article I'm currently working on I came across the amazing design duo who are Leutton Postle.
Central St Martins Graduates Sam Leutton and Jenny Postle have teamed up to create this new label and it's generated a lot of excitement. These emerging designers have really been making waves in the fashion world as individually so this is a new knitwear force to be reckoned with.

Browns have already picked up Postle's collection after her incredible MA show really caught the imagination of international fashion press and saw her chosen by Cathy Edwards as one of the hot new designers.

Meanwhile Stockport born (yup, big up Manchester again) Leutton has been honing her craft in knitwear innovation in China before returning to London to concentrate on her design work.

Their SS12 collection includes rainbow crochet, OTT fringing and a pastel palette and is truly multi-faceted. These two knitwear specialists play with textures and silhouettes to create innovative garments in popping colours that really require a closer second inspection. This is a collection that's mesmerising in its fine detail and yet maintains playful aesthetic.

Their AW12 collection was more muted to reflect the season but remained equally as quirky.

These are definitely two designers and one hot label to watch in 2012!

As a vintage shopping addict and sometimes seller to boot I thought I should start sharing some of my fave vintage shops. I am not going to give all of my secrets away at once (I'm actually not that daft) but will reveal the cream of the crop of vintage hot spots one at a time.

The first is based in my spiritual home city of Manchester but what the clever peeps at tea pot vintage have done is set up  a full all singing and dancing shop on the web so you can shop to your hearts content wherever you may be. With on trend pieces at very reasonable prices there are always treats and treasure to be found in this shop. Here are some of picks on sale now!..

Some chilling days in my home county. Cheshire has some very pretty countryside and despite the very British weather I've been enjoying walking and cycling around local mills (like the one photographed), windmills, castles and canals. So pretty! Will share some more pics soon.

ART: Stefan Kürten

Love the work of German artist Stefan Kürten. Using a soft retro palette, his architecture-based compositions are relaxing in their abstraction and have modern yet highly decorative qualities.
